Barnardo’s and Vauxhall Motors join forces to give young football fans the opportunity of a lifetime
Four lucky young football fans were chosen to represent their country as flag bearers at the England v Scotland game at Wembley on Friday 11th November.
As part of Vauxhall Motors’ sponsorship of the national football teams; England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales – the football fanatics were singled out by Barnardo’s – the UK’s largest children’s charity to take part in this special occasion.
As flag bearers, Jacob (Bletchley) and Keaten (Wolverton) who are England supporters, and Darren and Wesley (Aberdeen) who are Scotland supporters, were guests of Wembley Stadium and Vauxhall Motors where they walked through the tunnel, onto the pitch alongside the England football team.
Representing their nation, they were tasked to hold their national flag during the national anthems.
Speaking before the game about the opportunity, Darren, said, “My favourite player is Oliver Burke. I’m beyond excited, I can’t believe I’m actually going. What Darren is looking forward to the most is “being next to the players and walking out at Wembley.”
Wesley, said, “My favourite player is James Forrest or Robert Snodgrass. I am very excited about the opportunity. I’m looking forward to meeting the players and the atmosphere between the oldest football rivals.”
