NORTHERN IRISH FOOTBALL FANS SCORE FACETIME SURPRISE
Following a successful summer in France, Northern Ireland football stars Josh Magennis and Michael McGovern put down their football kits and picked up the phones to give dedicated fans a special treat. Manning the Vauxhall Fan hotline for one day only, the players surprised lucky supporters with a FaceTime call to thank them for their never ending support, with hilarious results.
Northern Ireland fans were encouraged to enter a competition to win their national teams football shirt as part of the Vauxhall Motors #GetIN campaign, designed to bring fans close to the players with one off experiences. Magennis and McGovern added the extra surprise for the lucky winners, by calling them on FaceTime to let them know they had won the competition and would be receiving a football top, signed by them both.
Highlights from the day included:
• One lucky fan, Sandra, was in her local chippy when she received the call. Thrilled by the unexpected surprise, lots of other hungry customers jumped in to join the action. Sandra returned home with more than just a bag of chips as Magennis and McGovern gave her a call back so that her son could speak to his favourite players, making one very happy fan’s night.
• Another fan, got the players attention for his facial hair, with Magennis commenting ‘what a tash!’
• The two footballers also didn’t waste the opportunity to have a bit of fun with the prize winners, making fans Stephen and Glen perform their best animal impressions on camera. Barking mad!
